I mos def gets down with Def Poetry ever since late nights back on my couch back in High School when it used to run on HBO. I haven't seen this poet before, but he gives us something to think about. Now, I don't claim to be self-righteous, rising above the word, and I have somehow convinced myself that I can depower the word by reclaiming it (even as an Afro-American Studies major)...watching this was like getting stung by a bee...quick sharp pain that will continue to remind you everytime u're in the presence of bees. So peep the vid and get lifted.....even if you don't stop using the word, it will at least give you something to think about.
