Top Floor Artist Spotlight: Q-Tip

I definitely gets down with A Tribe Called Quest, and I definitely bobbed my head to Vibrant Thing when Q-Tip released his own solo LP. Now, almost ten years since his solo album, Q-Tip returned in late 2008 with his follow-up, "The Renaissance." Predominately produced by Tip himself, "The Renaissance" is worth the near-ten year hiatus and definitely keeps up with Q-Tip's vibe and signature style, but is unequivocally progressive in terms of hip-hop. Featuring themes, of love, relationships, Life, fun, et al, the Renaissance is something that you'll want to bump to get your day started, as well as mellow out to after a long day on the grind. Album art is hot too...and Tip's rhymes transcends the lackluster attempts of many of today's radio hip-hop rappers.
